Education: University of North Texas -BS-  Interdisciplinary Studies. Texas A&M  -M. Ed - Educational Leadership.

I have taught at all levels; elementary, middle, and high school. I am certified in Reading, ESL, Administration and Educational Technology. In addition to my classroom teaching experiences, I have worked as campus assistant principal and principal, a district curriculum supervisor, instructional technologist and library supervisor, and director of research, data, and accountability. I have also enjoyed professional opportunities for public speaking and leading professional development. I have presented at the TCEA conference for the past few years on topics such as data driven lesson planning, the use of collaborative commons, effective goal setting and appraisals, and implementing learning management systems. There is no denying that technology has transformed life as we know it, and I am an advocate for the use of properly implemented technology to transform the classroom for a generation of students who live in a world with a constant flow information and endless educational opportunities.

My why is the kids. I am passionate about guiding student achievement, building relationships and making a positive impact on all students, from the most vulnerable to the most confident. Through knowledge of current trends in education, I can provide a safe classroom environment conducive to learning, and motivating students at all levels with many diverse backgrounds to grow into lifelong learners and responsible citizens. I am strongly committed to the continuous improvement of myself as well as my students and all the families in my community.

I have been married to my beautiful bride Tammy for 27 years. We have two sons; Austin, a doctor of PT student, and Kaleb, a firefighter in Kyle, TX. 

My hobbies are traveling, music, coffee, and spending time with my two dogs. I am also currently working towards a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Grand Canyon University.
